Welcome to Caroline's home pageCounselling & The Alexander TechniqueOn these pages you will find a brief description of the Alexander Technique and information about Counselling. My aim is to give you an overview of what you might expect to gain by learning either or both of these techniques and how they can help you to get the very best out of your life. Caroline has taught the Alexander Technique for over 23 yrs, is Head of Training at the Bristol Alexander Technique Training School, where she teaches four mornings a week, and has been counselling for over 18 years. She also practices in Bradford on Avon and Peasedown St John which are both 6 miles outside Bath. Her practice includes working with individuals, couples, groups and teenagers. The Alexander Technique:By learning to apply the Alexander Technique you learn immensely practical skills in identifying and preventing stress & strain in everyday activities, resulting in greater freedom of movement, less pain and better health. It can help to alleviate problems such as back pain, migraine, RSI, high blood pressure, speech difficulties and much more. For more information read The Alexander Technique section of this website. NEWS: Clinical Trial Shows Alexander Technique Provides Benefit For Chronic Back PainClinical trial results published in the British Medical Journal 19 August 2008, show that Alexander Technique lessons provide long-term benefit for chronic back pain sufferers. Therapy & Counselling:Offers ways to explore and heal present and past difficulties - dealing with issues such as low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, loneliness and relationship difficulties. It is also a recognised fact that in order to feel happy and well we need a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives. This aspect of our lives often gets lost in the rush & fast pace of modern living. Counselling gives us the opportunity to take stock of our lives and is a process of self education & of finding a new sense of satisfaction and contentment.
